Fully type approved and designed to be unobtrusive, yet easy to use, this smart touch screen system integrates with existing bridge alarms and is fully type approved to the latest IMO standards.Outputs from BNWAS (bridge alarm system) include a third stage active watch alarm for the general ship alarm and a fourth stage to activate the Ship Security Alert System (SSAS).
We are now now supplying and installing the latest AMI Marine's KW810 BNWAS (Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System) to meet the compliance date with the latest type approved equipment from AMI, tested in compliance with IEC 61626.Bridge Navigation Watch Alarm Systems were introduced to ensure the bridge is always manned and under the control of the OOW (Officer of the Watch) at all times. The BNWAS must be reset by the Officer of the Watch within a preset time limit. BNWAS is essential for one-man bridge operation, where the vessel is dependent on a single OOW for continuing on a safe passage.

BNWAS begins a sequence of alarm stages if the OOW is unable to interact with the system. They are:
Stage1: Audible and visual alarm - only local to the wheelhouse
Stage 2: Additional audible and visual alarm in selected Officer's quarters
Stage 3: Additional audible and visual alarm throughout the ship
The KW810 has an optional motion sensor, in addition to the standard Push-to-Reset button, which detects the OOW's movement and automatically resets the BNWAS counter. This allows the OOW to continue his duty without the interruption of having to reset the alarm every 3 to 12 minutes
